Business/DBA Certificate

Mass General Law Chapter 110 Section 5 states that anyone doing business under a name other than their own is required to file a DBA (doing business as) certificate in the Town the business is in. The fee for a business certificate is $35 (payable in cash or check), the certificate is valid for 4 years.

  • To complete this process by mail, fill out this application form and have it notarized.  
  • To renew your business certificate, submit this application form along with the $25 renewal fee.
  • You may also want submit an online Zoning Interpretation Request or contact the Building/Zoning Department at 508-393-5010.  They will determine if your proposed business complies with Northborough Zoning Bylaws.
