Day: Wednesdays ~ for four weeks
Dates: March 16, 23, 30 and April 6th
Time: From 1:00 – 4:00 PM

The memory training program to be offered by the Northborough Senior Center is designed for people who wish to improve or maintain their memory ability. The goals of the course are to help participants develop good memory habits and to teach techniques to improve memory. This course is not intended for people with a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s Disease or other forms of dementia.

By way of background, the Longevity Center of UCLA has conducted many research studies that have shown that the strategies taught to participants of the memory training course are effective in improving memory in older adults with normal, age related memory challenges. The course targets the four most common memory concerns that people experience every day:
• Forgetting names and faces
• Forgetting to do things in the future (like keeping appointments, passing on a phone message, or forgetting why you walked into a room).
• Forgetting where you put things like keys, glasses, phone
• Knowing something that you can’t immediately recall Participants will be expected to make a four- week commitment in order to attend each class.

You will be working in a group, led by volunteer trainers, Liz Nasser and Jonna Zimmerman. There is no cost for the course. Please call with questions or for registration by Friday, March 11 to ensure that we have adequate training packets. Class size will be limited to 10 people.
